About Southern Haulage

What began as a small local transport operation has grown into a thriving company, while still maintaining the strong family values it was built upon.

The business was originally established in 1961 by brothers Peter and Tom, trading as Pavlovich Bros. Transport. Having grown up on their family farm in Forest Hill and worked alongside neighbouring farmers, the brothers understood the needs of the local agricultural community. Their focus was on servicing farmers with reliable bulk haulage, and over time the business grew to operate a fleet of seven trucks.

As the years passed, Tom eventually retired from the business to return to farming, followed later by Peter. The company was then passed into the capable hands of Peter’s son, Chris.

Chris joined the business in his early twenties as a truck driver during the harvest period and has remained dedicated to the company ever since. In 1990, Chris and his wife Penny took over the operation and began expanding the business into new areas, including timber haulage and chipping, civil roadworks, and float work. With this growth came an expanded service area, now reaching as far as Perth, Esperance, Margaret River, and many locations in between. For more than 13 years, Southern Haulage has also proudly supported a loyal client base in Mingenew, providing bulk haulage services each season.

Today, the next generation of the family Lee, Shanon and Trent are actively involved in the business, continuing the legacy and gaining hands-on experience in the operations that have shaped Southern Haulage.
